Career
Dara Singh began his career as a body builder and later went onto become a professional wrestler. Known in the world of wrestling, Dara Singh became the Commonwealth Champion in 1959.
Titled Action King Of Bollywood
When he stepped into film industry, Mr. Singh became the Action King of Bollywood in 1960s and 70s. One of his notable finds was the actress Mumtaz with whom he had performed in 16 Hindi films.
He Was Also A Producer And Director
Apart from being an actor, he also directed and produced a few films. He also acted in National Award winner film ‘Main Maa Punjab Dee’.
Role Of A Hanuman
The first time he played Hanuman was for a film Bajrang Bali. He was around when he played Hanuman in the television serial Ramayan.
Owner Of Dara Studio
The actor was also the owner of prestigious Dara Studio at Mohali, which was founded in 1978. It’s a self-contained mini-city with every facility within the compound.
